Dr. Tudor Oprea and Dr. Ruben Abagyan present at the AI for Early Drug Discovery conference in San Diego
Dr. Ruben Abagyan spoke on giga-screening for preclinical candidates with a defined multi-target profile, looking at how first-in-class or best-in-class candidates can be identified quickly. He illustrated the topic with Eilean Therapeutics’ program for difficult targets such as FLT3 and BCL2, where rational design by the Molsoft team led to best-in-class candidates entering clinical studies in leukemias and lymphomas within two years of the program’s start.
Dr. Tudor Oprea discussed whether humans can learn from machine learning in drug discovery, highlighting the work of the Molsoft and Expert Systems design teams on a best-in-class M-Pro/3CL candidate for COVID-19 that is moving into clinical trials.
